ON Sunday, April 11, 2010 the Wild Pigs MC of Memphis, Tennessee held their 13th
annual poker run. We were blessed by beautiful weather and prepared for what we
hoped would be a successful event for everyone. Our beneficiary this year was P/O
Margaret Taylor of the Memphis Police Department downtown precinct. For those who
are not aware, Margaret has been fighting an ongoing battle with cancer and, even
though her treatment has been successful, has an additional surgery yet to go. We
are all praying for her full recovery. She has expended her sick leave and has no
additional income with which to pay her mounting medical bills. So, with the help of
her co-workers and supervisors, we as a group were able to provide her with financial
When we arrived at Robillio's Sidecar Cafe to set up the lines were already forming.
"Big MIke" Robilio had the Bloody Marys going and next door at Bumpus Harley
Davidson the Christian Motorcyclist Association was set up cooking a free breakfast
for all riders. We owe a huge"Thank You" to the Bumpus Harley Davidson family for
keeping the Drag Specialties truck and display for the poker run and also for their
sponsoring the food cooked by the CMA.
The poker run route was 68 miles long with stops at the East End Grill on Winchester,
The Recycled Biker on Poplar in Collierville, The Ozone Bar & Grill on Highway 64 in
Oakland, and Hooters Wolfchase.
Everyone arrived safely at Dan McNamara's house for the ride ending party and
bar-b-que. The band "Reckless" was set up and belted out some really good biker
We set a record for attendance for this poker run at well over 700 riders and were able
to make the largest donation to a beneficiary to date.
If you missed it you really missed a great ride and party.
The Memphis Wild Pigs really enjoy putting on this event and we look forward to
breaking records again next year. With your help we can do it again.
Thanks for your generosity and support.
